Ian and Landon came from NYC for their Las Vegas wedding at El Dorado Ghost Town to celebrate with their friends and family! On my wedding day questionnaire, I saw that they put the Guest Attire as “camp/drag/ridiculous”. I knew right away their wedding was going to be an exciting day and it was!
Less than an hour south of Las Vegas, near Nelson, NV, you’ll find the El Dorado Ghost Town. This area holds a rich Wild West history and was a working gold mine in the 1860s through the 1940s. Currently, the El Dorado Ghost Town is a tourist destination with several buildings that the owners have restored and the Techatticup Mine that visitors can tour. The area is also a famous filming location for movies and T.V. shows. The Chapel, unique buildings, old cars, and more make it an interesting place to explore!

Landon and Ian had their wedding ceremony in the chapel. The grooms loved the beautiful cholla cacti everyone and the textures of the old buildings in the area, so we did photos all around. Their wedding guests were all dressed in line with a festive Wild West theme and their outfits got even better as the day went on! As guests arrived before the ceremony, they were working on a special art project that was revealed to the couple at the reception.
For the reception, everyone headed back to Las Vegas to Landon’s childhood home. There was a huge custom structure built with their names on it and a disco ball which created the perfect dance floor!
Their tablecloths were handmade cyanotypes using items that were special to them. If you look through their reception photos, you’ll see tablecloths with the shapes of doilies from a grandmother, household items, and even the shape of their cat who decided to make his presence known at the wedding! The art piece guests were working on at the ceremony was a cyanotype hands cloth made from silhouettes of the guest’s hands drawn onto cellophane. During speeches, the hands cloth was revealed to the grooms and they loved it!
Throughout the night guests took their looks to the next level thanks to a shed of costume items to try on and enjoy! During the grooms first dance they performed a costume change into extravagant, campy costumes! The rest of the night was filled with more dancing, costume changes, and a fun time!!
