As a Las Vegas photographer who works with hundreds of couples, I have come to think that everyone should get wedding & engagement albums! We live in a digital world, that’s no secret – but there is a certain permanence that photos gain when we hold them in our hands.

For all the benefits that having our photos in our phone brings – it also takes away that nostalgic feeling of flipping through grandma’s photo books. Or opening up the coffee table album and just reliving the day together. Having tangible photos in your hands is a connection tool, and I just can’t say enough good things about it. I think when people think about photography books, they mostly think of weddings. And don’t get me wrong- I LOVE those. But albums can also be used for engagement sessions and elopements.

Here are some cool ideas for both wedding & engagement albums!

Engagement albums:

• Make it into a guest book! Have your guests sign the book during your reception, and then you have a really cool keepsake from your wedding.
• Use it as a coffee table book! Your dinner guests will enjoy flipping through it and seeing your fun photos from your session.
• Flip through it every anniversary on the first day you said “YES” to your life together.

Wedding & elopement albums:

• It’s an heirloom item that your children and grandchildren will flip through one day (try not to get emotional thinking about that!!!)
• Make a tradition for your anniversary that includes looking through your album. Maybe grab the same bottle of wine and have a charcuterie board while you reminisce. I promise this feels SO much better than flipping through photos on your tiny phone.
• Gift an extra album to parents and grandparents – these are the PERFECT gifts for your loved ones after your day.
