Cynthia and Eric’s spring wedding at Adorn Events in Las Vegas was a day full of love, family, and meaningful Chinese wedding traditions. I first met these two during their engagement photos on Fremont Street and had been looking forward to their wedding day!
The day of Cynthia and Eric’s wedding started with a Chinese tea ceremony at Adorn Events! The tea ceremony is a meaningful Chinese tradition where the bride and groom serve tea to both of their families to show respect to their elders and for their family to show acceptance of their marriage. It’s also a ceremony to unify both families.
Cynthia and Eric both wore traditional red Chinese wedding attire. They knelt on cushions and served tea to their parents, grandparents, aunts and uncles, and other designated family members. The couple received well wishes, cards, and gifts from their family.
It was a beautiful ceremony to witness and document!
After the tea ceremony, Eric and Cynthia changed and got ready for their first look! They had a super sweet first look outside the venue and it was cute to see Eric getting emotional when he saw Cynthia in her dress! After the first look we did portraits of the couple and then wedding party photos.
Next, they had an indoor ceremony at the venue. In the blog you’ll notice there were a bunch of dogs involved in this day, from getting ready to being walked down the aisle during the processional!! They were all very good boys and girls. It was fun to see how Eric and Cynthia incorporated their pups into their wedding day!
For the reception they had beautiful flower bouquets on all the tables and greenery hanging. At the guest book table, guests could pick up a phone and leave a message to the newlyweds. They also had a Boba Tea bar with several different flavors to choose from which was a hit with everyone!
They kicked off their wedding reception by surprising their guests with a Chinese Lion Dance. According to my Google research, the Chinese lion dance is performed to bless the couple and wish them a long and happy marriage. The dance is believe to bring good fortune, ward off evil spirits, and bestow other blessings on the newlyweds such as fertility, prosperity, and longevity.
After the lion dance the reception continued on with first dances, toasts, and cake cutting. After the formal events, Cynthia changed into her reception dress and they continued celebrating and dancing the night away with their friends and family!
Cynthia and Eric are an incredible couple and had such a cool wedding! As a photographer, it was an honor to witness and capture the traditional elements that made the wedding day unique to Cynthia and Eric! Enjoy a glimpse into their wedding day!
