In today’s blog I’m sharing the top 10 best places to buy bridesmaid dresses online, but first, let’s dive into bridesmaid trends for 2023!

2023 Bridesmaids Trends

Gone are the days of every bridesmaid wearing the same exact dress on the wedding day. 

With a group of friends with varying bodies, styles, and preferences, more couples are opting to give their wedding party a say in what they’re wearing. Finding a dress that looks great on every person in your wedding party AND one they love wearing can feel like an impossible task. Instead, everyone feeling comfortable and confident in what they’re wearing = the best possible outcome! 

For 2023 weddings I’m predicting we’ll continue to see a lot more variation in what bridal party members are wearing! For the past couple of years, we’ve seen wedding parties wearing the same color, but everyone’s dress is a different style and fit. Or maybe some wedding parties are wearing a similar dress in different tones or complementary colors.  I still love those looks, but in 2023 I predict we’re going to change it up even more. 

If you’re wanting to add a little extra to your overall wedding party “look” you can play with different patterns, textures (ruffles, swiss dots, sequins), and fabric types (lace, satin, chiffon). The options are endless for creating a truly unique look for your wedding party!

Tips for Different Bridesmaid Dress Styles & Colors

How do you give your wedding party options for their outfits, while also giving guidelines for choosing looks aligned with your vision?  

#1 First, pick a color scheme. 

Give your wedding party 2-3 colors to play with and start there! Maybe it’s 2-3 shades of pink or 2-3 earthy colors to choose from. Be sure to stay involved with the communication so you can make sure there is a good mix of all the colors versus only one person in dusty blue and the rest in light grey. There needs to be a mix!

#2 Next, decide on a dress length. 

Are they looking for full-length dresses? Cocktail length? Don’t stress over a mix of full-length and midi dresses, those typically blend well together, but everyone needs to be on the same page for hemlines.

#3 Three don’t change up too many things. 

The idea of mix and match dresses is fun, but mixing up too many things can create an unorganized look for your wedding party. A general rule of thumb is to only change up one or two things for each dress. Plan out a visual example of what you’re going for using Pinterest or create a vision board through Canva to share with your wedding party! Then everyone can be on the same page!
