Rainy Elopement at The Little White Chapel | Las Vegas Wedding Photographer

It’s not often the clear umbrella in the back of my car gets a chance to shine. But this rainy elopement was it’s lucky day!! In Las Vegas rain is not something most couples plan for. In fact, it’s so rare for us to have anything but sunny celebrations. But sometimes, the unexpected ends up being the very thing that makes the day unforgettable. And that was absolutely the case for Kelsie and Bradlee.

They embraced the weather with joy, and had the most fun day together!

Bradlee and Kelsie met back in 2019, and have been together ever since. Through COVID, through big life changes… they’ve been each other’s partners. And they knew they wanted to make it official in true Vegas style.

They live in Reno and are true Nevada locals. Kelsie is an elementary school teacher, and Bradlee works in shipping and receiving (and bartends for fun). When they are not working, they are usually outside walking their dog, Grover. They were such an amazing couple, and I was so honored to be their Las Vegas wedding photographer. We all just had the best day embracing the rainy weather and running around Fremont Street!

They started their day at A Little White Chapel

Classic.

Iconic.

Timeless. Yes please.

Kelsie wore a simple off-the-shoulder white dress that felt both effortless and modern. She paired it with the cutest heels for the ceremony. And then swapped those for boots on Fremont, that gave the whole look a little edge. Bradlee wore a blue suit with a bow tie. They were the perfect picture! I imagine them looking back at these photos in 20 or 30 years with so much fondness.

What does a rainy elopement look like in Las Vegas?

Since it almost never rains in Vegas, the cloudy skies felt extra special. The light was soft and moody. The reflections on the pavement made everything glow. Honestly, this is the kind of light photographers dream about. And yes, the clear umbrella that lives in my trunk finally got its moment. It added such a fun, nostalgic touch to their portraits outside the chapel.

After the ceremony, we headed down to Fremont Street. Neon lights. Wet sidewalks. A little chaos in the best way. Kelsie and Bradlee laughed through it all. They popped champagne under the covered walkway and soaked up the energy of downtown Vegas. The rain only made it better. Everything felt alive.

They were staying at the Golden Nugget, so we wrapped things up there. We took photos in the elevators and had a quiet moment away from the crowd. These are always some of my favorite images. Just the final bow on a beautiful day.

By the end of the night, it was clear that this rainy elopement was exactly what it was meant to be. Proof that perfect weather is overrated. Your day is going to be amazing no matter what. And sometimes, a little rain makes the day that much more fun!
