A lot goes into planning a Vegas Summer Elopement or Wedding (I guess you could say a lot goes into planning an elopement or wedding period). But when it comes to the hot, hot months, you’ll want to be as prepared as possible! So, I’ve put together a trusty little list of helpful tips if you’re coming out this way when it’s going to be a million degrees.
Have your ceremony at or after sunset
Ok, yes that does mean your ceremony will be late BUT you won’t have to deal with the hot desert sun beating down on you. Plus if you want to head downtown after for photos you’ll have a blast with all the lights of the city!
Stay indoors
Easy, peasy tip! Choose an indoor venue (like Little White Chapel) and stay inside. There are PLENTY of indoor photo locations in the area if you know where to look. Want to see an example of an indoor ceremony? I’ve got you covered right here.
Dress appropriately
It may seem obvious but it’s often overlooked…the types of fabrics you wear and how thick and heavy they are make a big difference in how you can handle the heat. So maybe opt for something other than a 3 piece suit on the big day and go with something a little lighter.
Plan for A/C breaks
If you’re spending a couple of hours exploring, you’ll want to plan at least a couple breaks inside. This is where a good photographer can come in clutch: they’ll know the places to stop for some A/C and a break! Don’t forget to factor this into your busy day.
Water and food!
No really I mean it, water, water, and more water!!! It’s hard to over hydrate in this circumstance and you won’t regret drinking more water than you think you should. Plus it’s important to make sure you’re eating regularly. Don’t skip breakfast!
Consider a different month!
Alright, I’ll just say it…if you’re really super nervous about the hot months here, you can always choose a different season. Spring & fall are the best of the best here. And honestly, winter is a solid option because we don’t get snow and it isn’t freezing cold. It’s always an option to simply choose a different month that’s not in the middle of the hottest time of year.
