Krystal & Donald had a Valley of Fire elopement, which is about an hour away from Las Vegas. It’s such a gorgeous, scenic location if you’re looking for something that doesn’t scream “Vegas!”
This was a bright, sunny day and I loved how it created beautiful shadows for a dramatic flare. These two said “I Do” in front of a very small audience, under a triangle arch. I loved the floral designs they picked to accent the ceremony. It was just enough to add a celebratory touch, whiteout taking away from the grandeur for their Valley of Fire elopement. The used a vintage-inspired runner rug for their aisle, and it was the perfect little set up.
After they were newlyweds (!!!) we snuck away for some canyon photos for their couples portraits. As a Las Vegas wedding photographer, I always love this portion of the day when we get to sneak away and the couple just gets to bask in their new adventure together! It’s always such a happy, glowy, FUN part of my day as a photog. Plus, I LOVED the morning sun for their portraits, it created some dramatic elements to the background. Yes please!
For their reception, they rented a home from Swimply, which was a perfect backyard pool setting for their family and friends to celebrate. If you haven’t considered a backyard reception (especially if you’re doing a private ceremony) – I hope these photos convince you to consider it. The whole afternoon was so laid back and personal. They had a little bar and food truck, played the newlywed game and took shots with their friends. I mean, does it get any better?
Krystal did an outfit change for the reception, and I loved her little white bridal dress. And her hair bow completed the look! The newlyweds partied into the night with their friends! Some guests even jumped in the pool! Everyone had a fantastic time together, celebrating the newly married couple. I love these days that are so full of personal connection and love!
