“We are two silly gooses looking for a pond to get married in…” is how Haley described her & Jacob when telling me about their Commonwealth ceremony plans. “Honestly, we want something memorable that we can look back on that’s different from the normal “wedding”. We both are into the macabre and dark and unique experiences. While we love the goth aesthetic, we want our elopement to be just us (with officiant and photographer). We love the showy, traditional Las Vegas elopement.”
And Haley and Jacob got their dream day! They picked Friday, the 13th and planned a whole day around their favorite things. We started off with their big day where they said “I Do” in dark and moody bar vibes. They shared a tequila shot afterwards and took newlywed portraits all over. Since we had the place to ourselves, we could really relax and enjoy the moment.
If you are looking for a unique ceremony option other than the chapel, definitely reach out to Berlynn with Hellbent Hitchings! They really pulled together the most amazing moment for these two lovebirds, and they are 10/10 recommended. And while I’m mentioning the amazing elopement vendor team: Flowers by Michelle rocked my socks off with this floral arrangement. It was the perfect mix of bridal and dark&moody.
After we wrapped up some indoor photos, we decided to head out to the Spring Mountains. They wanted some nature-y photos to compliment the Vegas-y ones. So we whisked out to the mountains for golden hour. This is where we took some bridal portraits and solo groom portraits too. I always like to make sure my couple have variety. Especially because I’m a huge fan of printing your photos in an album. These are great shots to include!
After the sun had set, we drove over to Fremont street for the last portion of the day. We wandered the casinos a bit before landing at a tattoo shop for some celebratory “Friday the 13th” flash tattoos to remember their big day! These two were the BEST. I loved seeing everything Haley had dreamed about in her original inquiry with me come to fruition that Friday!
Days like this remind me why I love being a Las Vegas Elopement photographer… getting to be there all day for the special moments.
Knowing they’ll look back on these photos for the years to come already has me in my feels!!
