Sara and Jon’s Lake Tahoe Wedding at Heavenly Mountain Resort was so full of fun, love, togetherness, and everything a wedding day should be! Despite smoke from Yosemite wildfires covering up the mountain top lake views, these two didn’t let it ruin their day and had the best time!

Sara and Jon met on Tinder in 2017. Ever since their first date, they’ve been smiling, laughing, and growing together. Together they enjoy movies, cooking while dancing in the kitchen, bowling, mini golf, and getting outdoors with their golden shepherd, Tonopaw! There truly is a light and joy about Sara and Jon that is contagious!

Getting Married at Lake Tahoe

Lake Tahoe is Sara and Jon’s “special place” and is where they took one of their first trips together. The day of their wedding they both got ready at the venue and then did a first look outside. Jon had the sweetest reaction to seeing Sara in her dress! We spent time doing their portraits and wedding party photos all before the ceremony.

Their #1 priority was enjoying having all their loved ones together. So we made sure to get as many photos done beforehand so they could really enjoy hanging out with their favorite people. Once the reception began they spent the night dancing their hearts out with their friends and family!

Heavenly Ski Resort Wedding Venue

Heavenly Ski Resort is a Lake Tahoe wedding venue located on the California-Nevada border in South Lake Tahoe, CA. Sara and Jon chose Heavenly because of the gorgeous lake view at the top of the venue. Though we didn’t have the clear views we all were anticipating, we at least had some golden light come through the smoky sky during their sunset photos!

They had their wedding ceremony and reception at Heavenly’s Lakeview Lodge. Whenever the view is clear, the ceremony sight overlooks Lake Tahoe. The lodge has options for guests counts of 80-120 guests or even 200. Sara and Jon danced the night away on the outdoor patio that has views of Mt. Tallac in the distance. This is truly a dream wedding venue for anyone planning a mountain wedding in Lake Tahoe!
