One of my favorite parts about shooting in Las Vegas is the variety of scenery you can pick from, even though we’re in the desert! About 30 minutes northwest of the Strip, you’ll find Mt Charleston. If you’re hoping for mountains, greenery or Fall colors for your engagement session, this is the perfect spot! Not to mention, in the hot summer months, it’s a great place to escape the heat. Another thing I love about Mt Charleston is the two different looks that you can get: the trees and greenery further up the mountain, and then some golden, desert vibes in the canyon. The perfect chance for an outfit swap!
Red Rock Canyon National Conservation is a 13 mile scenic drive you can enjoy on a weekend trip to Vegas, or for your engagement session! I love a location that can give many different looks to really enhance a gallery, and Red Rock is definitely that. Please note that there is an additional permit fee to shoot here, and the permit can take approximately 4-6 weeks to process. Something to keep in mind!
The Seven Magic Mountains is such a fun location! As I write this, the structures were recently repainted and lemme tell y’all, they are SO bright right now. I love it. But anyways, this is yet another spot where you can get multiple looks! Right behind this installation is plenty of desert goodness to get a more neutral look. I’ve found the best time to shoot here is sunrise, mainly to avoid the crowd. It’s an early alarm, but trust me, more than worth it.
If you’re wanting some classic Vegas vibes for your engagement session, look no further than Fremont Street! Fremont has all of the colors, signs, and Vegas lights you’re looking for. There are also a couple bars that will let you take photos inside, so your engagement session can easily transition into a date night! This is obviously a busy area so we wont be able to avoid others in your photos 100%, but there are plenty of sneaky angles and spots here that I have found to be perfect for some fun portraits.
Okay, this one isn’t *quite* in Las Vegas, but I love it so much and I’m more than willing to make the drive. If you’re a Vegas local and looking for more of an adventure, Death Valley is incredible! It gets veryyy hot here, so Death Valley is best in the fall and winter. I particularly enjoy the sand dunes and Artist’s Palette, but there are other areas that I haven’t explored YET – Let’s go!
