There is something really special about watching artists get married. They notice the little details, lean into creativity and keep an open mind to the process. And they are never afraid to make the day feel like them. As a Las Vegas wedding photographer, this elopement was a dreammmm for me!
Because this artist-vibe was high with Karl and Reid.
The two first met through an online film studies class at Brooklyn College. They lived in different cities at the time so they didn’t think much of it. But fast forward, and they both lived in NY. That’s when the connected on Hinge. Well I guess the app stayed trued to it’s tagline, because the app as since been deleted and these two eloped in Vegas!
Karl and Ried built a life together from New York to Los Angeles, with Berlin up next. Reid is a photographer, while Karl spends his time painting and writing. So it only made sense that their wedding day was every bit the stylish and playful Vegas day that it was!
We started their day on Fremont Street!
Before heading to the ceremony, we wandered through Downtown Las Vegas in the afternoon for portraits. We wanted to get the “newlywed” pictures done early, so they could have an evening ceremony at LWC with their friends.
They both wore classic black tuxedos for their wedding look. They had mismatching boutonniere brooches that are now keepsakes from this special day. Maybe I’m biased but they looked like they walked out of a Vogue editorial, and I’m not mad about it.
Fremont Street delivered as always!
She gave us every kind of backdrop imaginable, and we photographed at them all! Vintage casino signs. Rows of glowing marquee lights. Busy sidewalks and photo booths. And of course we dipped into a couple casinos! The whole afternoon was full of creative energy.
I expect nothing less when two artists get married!
A Little White Chapel never goes out of style
After portraits, we headed over to A Little White Chapel for their ceremony. We made sure to take a few grooms portraits outside in the iconic LWC spots! I love photographing here. It never gets old. If you want more inspo from this venue, you can see Bence and Anthony’s day here!
The chapel is simple, but in the best way. The bright white interiors keep the focus exactly where it belongs: on the grooms.
After exchanging vows, the celebration continued outside with champagne, pops of bubbly flying through the air, and the perfect blue-hour glow over Las Vegas.
I just love when artists get married. They really understand the assignment of bringing their own personality to the forefront of the day.
This elopement was so completely true to them, as a couple.
Karl and Reid reminded me that the best elopement days are the ones that reflect who you are. Whether that means wandering Fremont Street in tuxedos, getting married in an iconic Las Vegas chapel, or celebrating with champagne under the neon lights. Or all of the above.
