Stunning Elopement Location Near Las Vegas

I have couples reach out to me regularly looking for an elopement location near Las Vegas. Maybe you want to enjoy the city, but say your vows somewhere quieter. Or maybe you’re getting married at one of the iconic chapels, but want to do your newlywed portraits out in nature. Either way, I can help you find a perfect spot. I’ve worked with hundreds of couples getting married here, and love showing you all the photogenic spots. (We have so many!!)

Sara and Cameron chose Valley of Fire State Park for their elopement!

They wanted to have the intimate desert setting for their vows & portraits, and this place is one of my favorites. If you want to see a video from their day, I have it on my Instagram here

These two met back in 2017 on Tinder and quickly bonded over a shared love of rock climbing, adventure, and all things vegan. Years later, they found themselves standing in one of their favorite places they had explored together, ready to exchange vows surrounded by the desert. I love it when my couples include sentimental locations or activities (like getting tattooed or going to a record shop!) It really makes the whole day that much more meaningful.

An Early Morning Start That Was Absolutely Worth It

I’m not usually someone who gets excited about a 4 a.m. wake-up call. But for an elopement at Valley of Fire? Absolutely.

The morning light here is unmatched. That gentle glowwwyyyy goey light hitting the sandstone?! It creates the dreamiest colors, and the early start means avoiding both the crowds and the desert heat. Win-win.

When Sara and Cameron arrived, I immediately knew their outfits were going to look incredible against the orange rock backdrop. Sara wore a whimsical blue-and-white patterned gown with dramatic puff sleeves. She looked like she was straight from Booktok. Cameron’s deep maroon tux added the perfect contrast against the warm desert tones.

A Sweet and Personal Ceremony

Their ceremony was simple in the best way.

Standing beneath the towering rock formations, they exchanged handwritten vows and promised forever to one another. There was no rush or “next event”. It was just the two of them being fully present on the moment they became husband and wife.

Afterward, we wandered through the area for portraits while the desert slowly woke up around us.

Why Valley of Fire State Park Is The Perfect Elopement Location Near Las Vegas:

One of my favorite things about photographing here is how much variety exists within a relatively small area. Everywhere you look is interesting and beautiful. Plus, it’s less than an hour away from downtown!

And when you go in the morning, it’s virtually empty! For Sara and Cameron, it felt like we had the entire park to ourselves.

We finished the morning exploring the surrounding landscape and taking advantage of every incredible backdrop we could find.

From dramatic sandstone walls to wide-open desert views with mountains in the distance, it created an epic elopement gallery for them.

Sara and Cameron’s day was relaxed and meaningful. And it made me so happy to be a Las Vegas wedding photographer. And so honored they chose me to capture their big day.
