What to Bring to Your Las Vegas Elopement

Here’s what you need to bring to your Las Vegas Elopement (from a wedding photographer who specializes in these intimate wedding days!)

You booked the chapel. You found the outfit. And now you’re officially counting down the days until you get married in Vegas. Ahhh!!

Before you head out the door, there are a few things you definitely want to have with you.

When couples ask me what they are the ESSENTIALS they need for eloping, I always keep it simple. You do not need to bring a million things. Just the important stuff that will keep your day easy, comfortable, and extra special.

First Things First: Bring Your Paperwork

Do not forget your marriage license from the marriage bureau! Your officiant or chapel will need it before the ceremony.

Bring:

  • Your marriage license
  • A safe folder or envelope to keep it in
  • Your IDs, just in case

Once you have your marriage license, put it somewhere safe right away. This is the one thing you absolutely do not want to leave behind.

Bring Some Details That Feel Like You

Your elopement day should feel personal. The little details are what make your photos and your memories feel so much more meaningful.

Here are some ideas of what to pack!

  • Your rings
  • A ring box
  • Florals
  • Invitations or vow books
  • Family photos or memorabilia
  • Any fun little touches that feel like you two

I love photographing these details before the ceremony. They tell the story of your day in such a sweet way, and these are often the photos that take you right back.

What to Bring to Your Las Vegas Elopement: Something You Maybe Hadn’t Thought of Yet:

Okay. Let’s talk about the thing nobody thinks about until halfway through the day.

Your shoes.

Vegas elopements usually involve more walking than you think. We might wander down Fremont Street, sneak around your chapel, or chase the neon lights for photos. And if your wedding shoes are brand new… I already know they are probably not broken in.

Make sure to bring:

  • A comfy backup pair of shoes
  • Sandals, sneakers, or flats
  • A blister stick or bandages if you want to be extra prepared

Trust me. Your feet will thank you.

Another Essential? Water, Water, Water:

Vegas is dry. Like reallyyyyyy dry. Especially in spring and summer. Between the heat, the excitement, and all the kissing, you are going to want water nearby.

A few ideas of how to stay hydrated on your big day:

  • A reusable water bottle
  • Extra water in the car
  • Electrolyte packets if you are getting married in the hotter months

Last Thing… Do Not Forget a Tote Bag:

You know that cute little wedding clutch you bought? I love her. But she is not fitting your shoes, water bottle, paperwork, and all the other things.

So here’s what I recommend instead:

  • A tote bag or backpack
  • Something easy to carry while we walk around
  • Enough room for all your extras

I can always help you carry it around so it’s not in any of your photos. Or you could have a custom one made just for your wedding day! Here’s some options if that sounds like a fun way to remember your day!

At the end of the day, what to bring to your Las Vegas elopement really comes down to being prepared, staying comfortable, and bringing the things that make your day feel like you.

The rest? We will figure it out together.
